Terrorrists, Pedophiles, and Pam Bondi
We Are All Domestic Terrorists
The United States Republican-controlled federal government is on a tear of labeling normal US citizens as "domestic terrorists." This comes after an infamous panel at CPAC titled, "We Are All Domestic Terrorists," in which Republicans took turns telling each other about how the evil communist Democrats have labeled "good old Republican values" as terrorist threats.
That's not what happened, but that's no big deal: they found a way to turn this around to harm average citizens so it's all good.

Epstein Docs, Part 2
The US government released another 3,000,000 documents from the Epstein Files. They were released far later than they were supposed to be, and are still wildly redacted and incomplete, but that hasn't stopped the DOJ from declaring a job well done.
Anyway, there's a lot of pedophiles in our government.

It's Weegee Time
There's been some big changes in the federal lawsuit against Luigi Mangione, the man who stands accused of having murdered a health insurance company executive.
Once again, I would like to testify that I didn't see shit.
On December 4th 2024, someone seems to have gunned down Brian Thompson, a man whose job was to minimize healthcare coverage payouts to sick people in order to maximize investor profit. In April of 2025, Pam Bondi, the Somehow-Still-Attorney-General of the US, told the Department of Justice to seek the death penalty for Luigi Mangione after charging him with stalking and murdering Thompson.
Notably, it's fuckin' weird for a sitting attorney general to publicly boast about calling for the state to specifically try to seek the execution of a yet-convicted US citizen. But also, lol, because a judge just threw out the charges which would've allowed for invoking the death penalty.
The reasoning for throwing out the charges is somewhat procedural, but largely has to do with the incompatibility of the firearms charges with the federal stalking charges. The judge noted that the removal of the charges doesn't make much sense objectively, but that the Supreme Court has muddied waters enough that it had to be done:
[the judge] said Supreme Court decisions over the past couple decades have changed how judges are supposed to assess these types of legal questions, forcing her to ignore Mangione's alleged actions. Instead, she said, she had to focus on hypothetical scenarios to figure out whether the stalking charges should be considered violent crimes.

Luigi isn't quite home free. He's still facing federal stalking charges and state-level charges in New York, including murder 1 with a hint of terrorism. That trial begins later this year, so we'll see what happens then.
Never Enough, But Not Nothing
The sheriff's deputy who murdered Sonya Massey in July of 2024 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison without the change for parole.
As a refresher, Sonya Massey was a Black woman living in Illinois who called for help from the police after she thought she saw someone snooping around her house. When the cops showed up, they asked her for ID, followed her inside, then lost their temper when she moved a pot of boiling water from the stove.
While she held the pot of water, police officer Sean Grayson began yelling at her, asserting the pot of water to be a weapon, and threatening to "shoot [her] in [her] fucking face." This is normal and good and why we tell our children to idolize police officers.
Oh, wait no I got that wrong, it's actually really not okay.
Grayson ended up doing as he said, and Massey died for no fucking reason.
In court, Grayson showed very little remorse. His statement about that night included an apology for being "unprofessional" and for saying mean curse words at her. Now, he's facing a reality where he may end up dying in prison, as he's also been diagnosed with Stage 3/4 colon cancer.
Massey's father had this to say about Grayson:
He showed no remorse. He was so cocky throughout this whole trial [until the conviction]. Yeah, that knocked the smirk off.
—James Wilburn
RIP Sonya Massey. This doesn't make it better, but it's better than nothing.
