An Update on Iran
I want to start with a quick update on the civil uprising in Iran, where an internet blackout has been fueling a massive war of information about what's all going on.
The people of Iran began protesting in late December, with economic protests turning into broader anti-regime demonstrations over a few days. The demonstrations were widespread, the largest seen in decades.
While the internet blackout makes getting verifiable information difficult, what we know is that "thousands" of Iranian civilians were killed by the state, while the Iranian government blames the United States and Israel, claiming they were behind instigating and arming the uprising. Meanwhile, the US and Israel are pointing to various death toll figures, presumably manufacturing consent for further operations again Iran.
It sucks real bad that the actual point here is that thousands of promising, young Iranian human beings were slaughtered for seeking to establish something better. As it stands, tens of thousands have been arrested, and Iranian forces continue to use live ammunition on protesters.
The Iranian supreme leader is an 86-year-old man. Donald Trump is 79. Netanyahu is 76, Modhi is 75, Putin is 73 and Xi Jinping is 72. Fewer ancient men with ancient grudges and outdated ideas on how the world operates, please.
The Greenest Lands We Didn't Ask For
I posted a video yesterday about the Trump/Greenland situation which is genuinely too stupid to even really talk through what is happening. You can find the video up on my YouTube channel:
Did You Forget the Vision Pro?
How about literally anything else for a little bit? Yeah? Let's talk about the Apple Vision Pro, and how much we've forgotten about it.
Apple may have wanted that. Or, at least, they're not particularly interested in convincing you to get one.

Oh, On Twitter? Oh.
Elon Musk's AI "Grok" allowed users to request "remixed" images of other users on the website, including "remixing" them into compromising clothing or worse. Their first attempt to remedy the situation was to lock access to the "undress anyone" functionality behind a paywall.

Speaking of Grok...
Speaking of Grok, xAI, the Musk-owned company that makes the previously discussed bot, recently stumbled after years of activism finally resulted in the EPA ruling that targets xAI's methane turbines powering their datacenter in Memphis.
